Posiadam lapka VBI z w/w kartą graficzną. Jestem noobem jeżeli chodzi o linuxa, więc myślę sobie, zainstaluje coś prostego....
Zainstalowałem sterowniki wedle wskazań SUSE.org i wywaliło mi cały serwer, wogóle nie startuje, informując mnie bardzo grzecznie, że niestety mam złe sterowniki graficzne i nidyrydy.

ktoś miał już doświadczenia z GF8400 i SUSE?

problem w tym, że na tej, którą podałeś, słowem nie wspominają o GF8400m, ani o SUSE 10.3...
sprawdzałem też stronkę invidii i nie ma tam sterowników do linuxa dla tej grafiki... :/
dziwne, że do najwyższego modelu są a do 8400m nie ma...

Plik /etc/X11/xorg.conf najlepiej edytować ręcznie.

edytować? jak pisałem, jestem kompletną lamą w zestawieniu z linuksem :)

Np tak: nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf albo tak: gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Przykłady tych plików znajdziesz m.in. na tym forum.

Ewentualnie jak sobie nie poradzisz to wklej zawartość tutaj. A tu masz jeszcze jego logi: /var/log/Xorg.0.log

zainstalowałem sterowniki jeszcze raz, z tym że teraz pominąłem krok ręcznego wpisywania czegokolwiek gdziekolwiek, poza zmianą "nv" na "nvidia" - gdzieś w postach tu na forum znalazłem

jest o tyle przyjemnie, że SUSE działa :) ale dalej nie ma obsługi efx3d, gdyż jak powiada albo nie obsługuje mojej karty, albo brak mu sterowników.

Prosiłem żebyś wkleił całość. I zacznij używać tagi [ code ][ /code ] bo inaczej będzie to trudno przeczytać.
