Informacja o błędzie SCSI (ukryta pod liczbami Sense Keys/Codes etc) jest następująca:
"The read-after-write retry limit was exceeded during a write operation."
Co to oznacza?
Twoja nagrywarka po prostu za szybko zapisywała dane na płycie, niż mogła te dane otrzymywać z zewnątrz (prędkość x48 bez DMA). Możesz zrobić dwie rzeczy:
1) zacząć nagrywać płyty z mniejszą prędkością (do ok. 16x)
2) włączyć tryb DMA (hdparm -d1 /dev/hdc), jeżeli oczywiście masz włączoną obsługę DMA w jądrze.

Też miałem podobne problemy, ale dodałem mały skrypt, który uruchamiany jest podczas każdego startu systemu, dzięki czemu wszystko chodzi jak należy (/dev/hda i /dev/hda to dyski twarde Seagate Baracuda 40GG, natomiast /dev/hdc to nagrywarka LiteOn DVD+-RW):
#!/bin/sh
#
# /etc/rc.d/rc.boost - Few commands to boost system speed
#
# IDE DMA (only for hard-disks (/dev/hda & /dev/hdb)
echo "Tunning IDE..."
# Hard disks: UDMA133 + 32bit I/O
for drive in a b
do
hdparm -d1 -X69 -c3 /dev/hd$drive > /dev/null
done
# CD/DVD drives: UDMA33 + 32bit I/O
hdparm -d1 -X66 -c3 /dev/hdc > /dev/null
# Better reading of scratched CD/DVD discs
hdparm -a 32278 /dev/hdc > /dev/null
