A może dlatego nie uruchamia bo jądro 2.4 nie obsługuje mojego chipsetu?

I chyba tak zrobie... chociaż, nie ukrywam poza tym, że w 2.4 ten cholerny dma sie nie włącza, to wszystko chodzi super... ehh, no szkoda :) trzeba ponac wreszcie 2.6

Moim zdaniem coś nie tak zrobiłem 2.4 czy 2.6 nie ma różnicy. Może jakiś moduł ? Może coś innego posprawdaj. lspci itd.

Powodem może być również fizczne uszkodzenie dysku. Sam nie moge uruchomić trybu dma, w kernelu na pewno wszstko jest ok, na windowsie to samo - dma nie rusza. Testowałem dysk na innych kompach i teżdma nie ruszał. To byla wina dysku - spróbuj go odpalić na windowsie, żeby wyeliminować fizyczne uszkodzenie.

tzn. czy dma działa? w menedżerze urządzeń w chodzisz do grupy kontrolery dysków (chyba) i wybierasz pierwszy kontroler, właściwości. W jednej z zakładek powinno wskazywać, czy używa dma, czy pio.

W manie do hdparm jest napisane, ze w przypadku niektorych dyskow (nie wiem czy dotyczy to twojego) nie ma sensu wlaczanie DMA -dysk nie bedzie chodzil szybciej, ba, jego wydajnosc moze sie nawet pogorszyc... Mam na jednym z kompow taki dysk jakis Seagate. Wlaczenie DMA powodowalo tylko problemy. Wylaczylem wiec i dysio czuje sie o niebo lepiej...

troche poszperalem na googlach i wyglada na to, ze obsluga twojego chipsetu (a przynajmniej wlaczajac DMA) jest od 2.6.12... na ktorej wersji jaja probowales odpalic ?
