Witam.
Używam dystrybucji Gentoo Linux 2005.0 z jądrem 2.6.11-gentoo-r5. Mój sprzęt:

Intel Pentium IV 1,8 GHz
GeForce MX 420
512 MB RAM

Ostatnio zainstalowałem sterowniki nVidia w ten sposób:
# emerge nvidia-glx
# opengl-update nvidia
następnie dodałem moduł nvidia do /etc/modules.autoload.d/linux-2.6
na koniec wprowadziłem odpowiednie zmiany do xorg.conf:
Load \\"glx\\"
usunąłem linijkę Load \\"dri\\"
potem zmieniłem Driver \\"nv\\" na Driver \\"nvidia\\"

potem zrestartowałem komputer. Moduł nvidia załadował się bez problemu. Po czym zalogowałem się uruchomiłem kdm:
# kdm
Ekran zrobił się czarny a po kilku sekundach przełączył się w \\"standby\\". Czekałem z nadzieją, że coś się zmieni ale nic się nie poprawiło. Robiłem to samo z innymi wersjami sterowników, przekompilowywałem X.org i jądro, efekt zawsze jest ten sam. Szukałem rozwiązania na innych forach (zarówno polskich jak i zagranicznych) ale wygląda na to, że problem jest trudny do rozwiązania. Dodam jeszcze, że po poprzedniej instalacji Gentoo 2005.0 nie miałem tego problemu.

Witam Ponownie. Długo czekałem na odpowiedź i się nie doczekałem. W tym czasie udało mi się dojść do rozwiązania... swoją drogą dosyć dziwnego. Chodziło o to że karta była włożona do slotu tylko w połowie. W internecie znalazłem wielu użytkowników z problemem jaki miałem. Proponuję aby sprawdzili czy ich karty graf. są odpowiednio włożone do slotu:)

Ostatnio kupilem Radeona 9550, zainstalwoalem sterownik, skonfigurowalem wszytko ok, restartuje system, wszystko sie laduje tyle ze nie moga wlaczyc sie x'y a konkretniej widze caalutki ekran czarny i nie moge go ani wlaczyc ani wylaczyc co rowna sie restartowi systemu no i zostalem skazany na windowsa :/

Prosiłem o logi a nie konfiga (ten tez może się przydać :-)) poszukaj linii zaczynających się od "EE" w /var/log/Xfree86.log(xorg.log) - lub podobnym. Zobaczymy czego się czepia.

z logiem xorga bedzie ciezko... tzn mam logi ale stare jeszcze bez sterownika, a ze kompa musze wylaczac guzikiem pewnie logi nie sa zapisywane w systemie... jakby dalo sie odpalic go w trybie txt to juz by bylo pol sukcesu...

Zaladuj z "failsafe" bedziesz mial txt.
Ustaw AGPX4 moze X wystartuje, chyba ze shrzaniles fglrxconfig.

sprobuj w fglrxconfig na pytanie o "the external AGP GART module" odpowiedziec tak, sprawdz tez czy wpisujesz dobre odswiezania monitora i koniecznie sprawdz czy wpisujesz dobra sciezke do myszki, nie pamietam jaka jest w mdk ale np. w slacku nie jest domyslnie /dev/input/mice tylko /dev/mouse. Jak juz to wszystko sprawdzisz i nie pomoze to odpal w failsafe XFdrake. Poprobuj i potestuj rozne ustawienia i jak sie uda to odpal X-y i poczytaj logi.
