Witam
Mam problem z grafiką.Posiadam ubuntu 12.04 i nie potrafię zainstalować sterowników.Podczas próby instalacji paczki .deb system pisze że nowsza wersja jest zainstalowana.Po wejściu w szczegóły jest napisane że system korzysta z sterownika vesa.To mój pierwszy wpis na forum i proszę o wyrozumiałość. Gdyby to było potrzebne specyfikacja mojego komputera:

Generalnie karty SiS są bardzo słabo wspierane. Do Twojego modelu nieoficjalne stery kiedyś robił Thomas Winischofer, ale jego strona jest martwa.

Oficjalne sis-y od Xorg (te, które masz zainstalowane) niby na liście mają obsługę tej karty - wrzuć na listę w tagi [ code ] zawartość logu /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

Taj jak pisze pkraszewski- sis jest badzo słabo wspierany. Miałem grafikę sis761 i cieszyłem się, że wyświetla mi strony www i filmy. O grach zapomnij - w windows też były problemy z grami. Na sis najlepiej mi działał debian squeeze, ale też musiałem poszukać sterów. Wystrzegam się tej firmy i wszystkim odradzam sprzęt tego producenta.

Może spróbuj tego

Co prawda są to drivery do nieco nowszych sisio...ów ( 671 ), z nieoficjalnego wsparcia, gdzieś kiedyś znalezione przeze mnie w sieci - może coś to wniesie.
Procedura jest prosta.
1. Ściągasz
2. Rozpakowujesz,
3. Skopiować dwa pliki ( sis671_drv.la, oraz sis671_drv.so ) i kolejno do /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers
4. wyedytuj /etc/X11/xorg.conf i wklej tam:
Section "Device"
    Identifier     "Device0"
    Driver         "sis671"
    VendorName     "SiS"
EndSection
5. Dodam, że lapku mojego ojca z Ubuntu 10.04 powyższe doskonale sprawdziło się ( włącznie z "ludzką" rozdzielczością ekranu ).

Wyjaśnijmy też od razu:
Powyższe wykonasz na własne ryzyko.

1. Terminal - logujesz się na root - następnie i w tym terminalu: gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Otworzy się w osobnym oknie plik - wklej tam co masz wkleić - daj zapisz - zamknij wszystko i restart kompa.

wpisuję po kolei
1. sudo bash
2. gedit /etc/x11/xorg.conf
3.wpisuję to co podałeś
4. próbuję zapisać i gedit wypluwa że nie ma takiego pliku
