Tx power 20 - bardzo dobrze!!!

Dobrze przetestujmy ją. Nie mam w tej chwili dostępu do AP, a z konsoli łączyłem się do sieci dobre 1,5 roku temu, więc zrobimy inaczej. Sprawdzimy aircrackiem. Spokojnie sprawdzimy tylko czy karta widzi pobliskie sieci.

jako root daj:
airmon-ng start wlan0
airodump-ng mon0       // tak, tak "mon0"
Poczekaj chwilę. Czy airodump wskazuje obecność w okolicy sieci (BSSID w górnej tabeli)?

Wykonałem powyższe, nie wiem czy dobrze wcześniej uruchamiając sieć i tak to wygląda :

Oj, oj. Może wyraziłem się nieco niejasno.

By przetestować kartę do trybu monitor/aircrack, należy (zakładając że system jest świerzo włączony):

iwconfig wlan0 txpower auto
airmon-ng start wlan0
airodump-ng mon0
(by wyłączyć tryb monitor trzeba wyłączyć airodump, np zamykając terminal na którym działą oraz
 airmon-ng stop wlan0
)
Nie stosuj przedtem ifup! Dhcp może zakłócać mon0, co zresztą widać po ostrzeżeniu.  Pokaż co się dzieje. Jeśli znowu pokaże się
"SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory"

phy0 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - Failed to request Firmware.
 
Firmware! No niewiarygodne, firmware nie pasuje do wersji sterownika albo firmwaru nie ma. Firmware jest w katalogu /lib/firmware (o czym już wiesz). Teraz zajdź tam i usuń plik rt73.bin, ale  wpierw zrób kopie zapasową i umieść ją w jakimś innym miejscu. Teraz pobieramy nowy firmware.

Kopiujemy go do /lib/firmware. Na wszelki wypadek ustawiamy prawa dostępu
cd /lib/firmware
chmod a+r rt73.bin
Można ręcznie pousuwać moduły sterownika i je ponownie załadować ale łatwiej ci będzie po prostu przeładować komputer.
Teraz jak zwykle sprawdzamy:
iwconfig wlan0 txpower auto
airmon-ng start wlan0
airodump-ng mon0
Jak nadal będzie coś w stylu: "SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory" to idziemy do Ralinka:

Jak zaakceptujesz licencje to dostaniesz firmware. pewnie pod postacią zbiorczej paczki. Weź ten zatytułowany rt73.bin i wklej go do /lib/firmware (razem z "chmod" jak opisywałem, poprzednią wersję  firmware usuwamy) Teraz sprawdź.

Poda między innymi informacje jak wymagany firmware powinien się nazywać (może nazwę zmienili i stąd ten problem)

Składam broń, nie wiem co jest nie tak. :(

Od początku uważałem że chodzi o firmware. Zmieniliśmy sterownik ale nadal "coś " nie tak... jak nie sterownik to co? Txpower=0, potem wyraźny komunikat że nie można pobrać pliku z środowiska użytkownika. Jednak firmware jest na miejscu i ma poprawną nazwę. Mogę już tylko zaproponować google i może założenie bezpośredniego wątku na forum Backtracka.

Nie można bezkarnie wymieniać kernel-a w BT4, niektóre programy do obsługi wifi nie działają jeżeli kernel jest vanilla.
Wiele osób pisało że po wymieanie wireless-compat bt4 sypię błędami a co dopiero jak kernel wymienisz.

Na dodatek rt2500 to układ obsługiwany w 100% przez BT4 i nie wymaga instalacji czegokolwiek.

Uszkodziłeś sobie system.

Pozwolę jeszcze sobie na ostatnie 3 słowa.

Spróbuj tego co radzi TommyV6. Przypomnę jedynie o (prawdopodobnym) zduplikowanym id rt2500usb/rt73, więc może starczy pobawić się blacklistem. Choć mogę się mylić i blacklistowanie nic nie da, a skomplikuje. Popróbuj "z i bez".

chyba kolega Tommy miał rację bo zainstalowałem na usb od nowa i po wpisaniu
iwconfig wlan0 txpower auto
airmon-ng start wlan0
airodump-ng mon0
od razu wchodzi w tryb monitoringu i wyszukuje sieci

tak czy siak - dużo się dowiedziałem dzięki ww. instrukcją więc dzięki

Więc po prostu przeinstalowałeś BT4 od nowa, wpisałeś usb i od razu zadziałał? Żadnych manewrów z rt2500usb/rt73?

dokładnie tak, co dziwne same programy linuxowe typu wineshark, wifi managet itp (w formie graficznej karty nie widzą, komendy z powyższego postu uruchamiają kartę i działa - żadnych blokad z rt2500usb/rt73 - kartę wykrywa na sterowniku rt73usb jak chcesz to wrzucę dmesg
