Znalazł by ktoś trochę czasu i pomógł mi właśnie z tą kartą graficzną (VIA Chrome9). Od kilku dni mam Ubuntu, nie znam się zbyt dobrze. Zainstalowałem kilka gier, które działały mi wcześniej na XP, tutaj zacinają się niemiłosiernie. Filmy na pełnym ekranie, także się lekko ścinają i szybkie przewijanie długich stron ścina mi muzykę lecącą w tle...

Jeżeli ktoś znajdzie choć trochę wolnego czasu to bardzo proszę o pomoc.

http://forum.linux.pl/viewtopic.php?id=11755 - tu znajdował się wpierw ten wątek, ale problem dotyczył bardziej pojedynczej sytuacji niż sprzętu w ogóle, więc oddzieliłem go.

Jak zauważyłeś w początkowym wątku, akceleracja 3D nie jest na razie sprzętowo obsługiwana. U Ciebie jednak wygląda, że i ta dwuwymiarowa zwalana jest na barki CPU czyli jeszcze gorzej. Może zacznij od podania konfigu i logów zgodnie z opisem w przyklejonym wątku w tym dziale.

Może podziel go więc na dwa pliki i wpakuj osobno. Na razie wiadomo, że próbujesz załadować sterownik openchrome, a jak sobie Xorg z tym poradził, to już w logu powinien opowiedzieć.

Mam nadzieję, że ktoś będzie w stanie zrobić z logów większy użytek niż moje rutynowe spojrzenie. Od siebie mogę powiedzieć tyle, że firma VIA otworzyła dokumentacje swoich urządzeń i w najbliższym czasie można spodziewać się powstania otwartych sterowników, funkcjonalnych już w pełni. Pozostaje albo kompilować ostatnie zdobycze na żywo (jądro, moduły Xorg i stery 3D), będąc zarazem testerem błędów, albo poczekać na dystrybucję z nimi (być może już w stabilnym Ubuntu 9.04, na razie alfa zawiera jądro 2.6.28, lub w Fedorze 11).

Możesz do tego czasu w xorg.conf zamienić openchrome na uniwersalny steronik vesa i zobaczyć jak radzi sobie z operacjami 2D typu przewijanie strony w przeglądarce.

Wcześniej miałem w pliku xorg.conf właśnie uniwersalny sterownik vesa, więc to raczej nic nie pomoże...
Więc nic innego nie da się zrobić, pozostaje mi czekać?
