No to zacznę od tego, że nie działa mi mikrofon.
wg. mnie to nie jest wina konfiguracji tylko bardziej prawdopodobnie sterowników.
na ircu mi powidzieli ze mam zmutowany mikrofon ale to nie mozliwe.
konfiguracje ciagle zmieniam po kilka razy i nic to nie daje.

Próbowałeś w alsamikserze, z grubej rury, ustawić na maksa wszystkie suwaki w Capture (TAB) a w 'Mic Select' użyć obu (a potem eliminować co nie trzeba)?

Polecenie arecord wyrzuca na standardowe wyjście sygnał z aktywnego urządzenia. Skoro jest nim mikrofon i działa, powinieneś na wyjściu ujrzeć potok znaków, kiedy coś mówisz do mikrofonu. To prosty sposób na sprawdzenie działania. Nie działający powinien dać tylko coś w stylu
